Mattie's Getting Strong!

She's definitely not as strong as Levi was (and still is - that boy is solid), but she's working on it!  Here she is doing some tummy time on Daddy's tummy, working those neck and arm muscles.

Uncle Brewer Visits

I forgot to get pictures of my brother holding Mattie, but I did get some of him and Levi. 

They were playing some car game on his phone...

Levi wanted to see his picture on the camera screen, but he didn't get that I had to take his picture first so he climbed in the chair behind me and I snapped these pics over my shoulder. He was hamming it up.

He's been doing this squinty eye, big smile thing a lot lately...

He has also been very into dressing and undressing lately.  Here he went and grabbed his PJ top out of his laundry basket and proceeded to put it on over his T-shirt.

To Great Grandmother's House We Go

We decided on a whim Thursday morning to go to Boerne for the weekend.  I called my mom to make sure they didn't have any plans, then proceeded to pack and get everybody ready to go.  It took about 3 hours, but we hit the road at 12:30 and were on our way.  Mattie does great in the car; she pretty much slept the whole way.  Complete opposite of Levi. 

I knew my Grandmother was eager to meet her Great Granddaughter, so we surprised her on Friday morning before taking her to her weekly hair appointment.  She was delighted to see all of us, but especially Mattie.  Levi was really tired and not cooperating to get his picture taken, so this is what we got:

4 Weeks Old

Easter 2013

Easter was pretty uneventful this year.  I had everything ready to go weeks in advance, so the only thing that had to be done was for the Easter bunny to hide the eggs for Levi.  One of the only outfits I bought for Mattie was her Easter dress and I also bought Levi a polo shirt and some shorts.  We weren't going to church this year so I wasn't really too concerned about what they were wearing.  Levi was not all that interested in getting the eggs surprisingly.  Once he had a couple in his hands, he didn't really care about the rest.  Especially after he figured out he could open them and there were either little plastic animal figurines, Fruit Loops, or M&M's inside.  He did seem to enjoy his basket a little more and I think his favorite things are his new Hot Wheels cars.  He plays with those everyday using his "vroom, vroom" sound effects.  Mattie had a basket too but we never took a picture of it.

Levi brought me each item from his basket as he pulled it out.

He wanted the cars right away.

He loves these little bath bugs.  You pull the tail and the wings spin.  Bella was interested in them too.

All dressed up for Easter!

First Day Home

Mattie and I came home on Saturday and as you will see, Levi wasn't too sure about it.  But he has really been very good with her.  He gives her lots of kisses and becomes very concerned when she is crying.  He will pat her head and say "I know" with an inflection that makes it seem like he is saying "It's okay."  It's really sweet to see him being such a good big brother when I was worried that he would be very jealous.

Levi's First Haircut (Finally)

When Pop and Gram made it into town on Tuesday, March 26th (to stay with Levi while I was in the hospital), Justin and I decided Levi finally had enough hair to warrant a haircut.  Since Pop has always cut my brothers' hair, we thought it would be easier for him to do it than attempting to take Levi somewhere.  It took one of us to hold him, Pop to do the cutting, and one person to take pictures. Whew!  And I managed to save a little lock of it.  It's amazing how much it changed him - he looks like a little boy now instead of a baby. :(
