Beach day

I took the kids to the beach on the morning of June 16th before it got hot and busy.  Unfortunately, there were a lot of dead jelly fish I had to keep a constant eye on so Levi wouldn't get stung.  What I didn't think about was all the chopped up pieces of jelly fish you don't see in the water.  I thought Levi must have had ants in his pants because there were a TON of red marks, bumps, and welts on his legs when I took his swim trunks off when we changed to leave.  I even ran to HEB and bought some Benadryl cream on our way home and almost bought the Aveeno oatmeal bath stuff for him because I thought for sure he would be in pain/itchy later.  By the next diaper change though, most of it was gone.  But, we still had an okay day at the beach.  It was just hard doing it by myself because I had Mattie in the carrier which made it hard to help Levi, take pictures, and made me HOT and tired.  So here are some pictures from our beach outing.  At least this time Levi had no problems getting in the water - he had no hesitation at all.

Craft and Water Play Date

We had a playdate this morning at a friend's house to make July 4th shirts and then let the kids play in the water.  We got there at 10:30 and didn't leave until almost 2!  Needless to say, Levi hasn't had a nap today.

Justin's Day

Here are some pictures of Justin's birthday/Father's Day.  He had to work but surprised us by getting home a little bit early.  I managed to make a dinner in his apartment with the minimal stuff we had there and we went down to the pool for a little bit.  We all had fun spending time together and I'm glad we were able to be with Justin on his day.

Abc's

Here is a video I took yesterday from my phone of Levi and me singing the ABC's.  I heard him singing along (and occasionally saying the correct letter!) with his alphabet train the other day but of course as soon as I tried to get my phone and get it on video, he stopped.  We were singing the alphabet yesterday and he said Y and Z right along with me!  So this was my attempt to get him on video singing his ABC's.  We sing it twice, and the second time I think you can really hear him say it.  Sidenote: I am wearing a t shirt I sleep in because Mattie exploded on me while we were at a restaurant with friends for lunch.  So I changed from poop covered clothes into comfy clothes when I got home. Also, the sun was very bright on us as it came through the window in the afternoon as you will see. Now enjoy!

Aunt Hannah Comes for a Visit

Hannah's work brought her to Houston this week so she tacked on a visit to the Clem House for the weekend.  And bonus, Hannah's old roommate, Jordan, came in too!  We grilled out some corn and squash from the garden, along with some pork chops Friday night for everybody. Saturday involved Levi going to a birthday party for one of his friends turning 2 and I got a massage using one of my Christmas gift certificates. And the best part of all is Hannah and Jordan babysat for us Saturday night!  Justin and I got to go see a movie (Star Trek in 3D) and go to a nice dinner.  Thank you, thank you, thank you ladies!  You are both welcome back anytime :).
