Decorating with Pinterest

Yeah, there's probably going to be more Pinterest inspired posts throughout the year as I get my craft on...

First up is this window/wreath ensemble I put together.  There are a ton of posts on Pinterest about decorating with old windows and even more about making wreaths, decorating with wreaths, etc.  I always had the thought, where the heck do people buy old windows from?  I don't have time to hit up flea markets!  But then I was at an antique emporium in downtown Rosenberg with my sister and I saw this window.  The price wasn't bad and it already had the chain attached to hang it.  There were actually two of them but I only bought one.  Then I bought the wreath, burlap, and "C" from Hobby Lobby.  I spray painted the "C" red with some paint I already had and used a command hook on the front of the window to hang it up.  It is now in the entryway above my piano. Easy peasy.

Next up, I was inspired by a cute set of pictures that had a whale spouting water to create my frog grouping.  Again, a super cheap decoration - I bought the 3 canvases on sale and just hand painted (and free hand drew my frog and bug) to match my $12 Walmart shower curtain.  I had decided to make the guest bath a little more kid friendly and anybody that knows me knows I love frogs. Maybe this will inspire somebody else out there to get their craft on!
