Pinterest Projects

In addition to the button tree I made for Mattie's room, I saw an idea on Pinterest to hang embroidery hoops with pretty fabric in them as decoration.  Easy enough for me!  I bought some fabric and spent about 5 - 10 minutes putting them together.  We are leaving the walls green so I wanted to add some pink for a girl.  That's how I decided on the "pink and green" theme, if you will. 

Here are the embroidery hoops that we (Justin) will hang in Mattie's room once we move Levi out:

Then I thought, I can make a quilt from some of the same fabrics to match!  I found an easy quilt tutorial on, you guessed it, Pinterest!  It really didn't take that long to make, but since I spread it out doing a little here, a little there, I can't tell you the total time I spent on it.  It ended up being approximately 3' x 4'.  The backing is a nice soft flannel with tiny pink and green polka dots that matched my colors just perfectly.  It was the last little bit that the store had so I got an "end of bolt" price on it plus it was exactly the amount that I needed. I love it when things work out like that.

I only have a couple more things I want to make/get for Mattie's room but I can't put it all together until Levi is out of there.  That probably won't happen until after she is born because he is just not ready to give up his crib.  But I'll work on that later, we've still got some time.
