Well, I did it. I got Mattie's ears pierced. I felt more anxious about her getting her ears pierced than I do when I have to get a shot. It took a few attempts to mark her ears correctly due to her being such a wiggle worm. She was already upset from me holding her down for that so the ear piercing part was even more fun. I took her to Sweet & Sassy because they pierce both ears at the same time, which I liked. My friend Lindsay met me there for support, which I was very happy to have! We had a great experience there. Well I did, Mattie may not agree.
Before we got started
Cleaning her ears
Finally marked up and ready to go
And it's done! Pearl earrings for this classy girl.
Not happy but not crying.
Was searching for a GF's blog and came across yours. Started reading and came across your post and picture of your daughter with her newly pierced ears. I think you were a smart and thoughtful mommy for doing it early when mommy could care for them
ReplyDeleteBabies and little girls with bling celebrates their femininity and femaleness. After all, they are little girls. I used the same small pearl earring for our dd too. Pearls are for girls!
Our ped encouraged us to have our dd done as an infant too right after her first DPT shot at six weeks. She also pierced her dd's ears after she gave me some tips for moms having their dd's ears pierced.
If there are other moms doing research or would like more info, drop me an e-mail.
